Overseas Student Financial Aid Application
Academic Year 2025–2026, Spring Semester

1. Legal Basis

This program is implemented in accordance with the KMU International Student Financial Aid Guidelines.

2. Eligibility

Overseas Chinese and international students currently enrolled at KMU who meet one of the following conditions may apply:
(1) With financially disadvantaged backgrounds.
(2) Significant financial burden due to injury, illness or hospitalization.
(3) Financial hardship caused by family emergency, natural disaster, or force majeure events.
(4) Financial hardship resulting from international or geopolitical circumstances.
(5) Other circumstances resulting in significant financial burden.

3. Types of Financial Aid

(1) Study Assistance Grant
Applicants who have ever not received tuition waivers or equivalent subsidies from the government or KMU, and who meet eligibility requirements, may be awarded this grant.
The grant amount for the Spring Semester of Academic Year 2025–2026 is NTD 10,000, and is disbursed once per semester.

(2) Learning Assistance Grant
This grant is awarded based on participation in academic support or self-directed learning activities.
1. Academic Tutoring: Includes tutoring sessions conducted by Teaching Assistants (TAs), faculty-led tutoring, and course-related academic support.
2. Self-Directed Learning: Includes participation in study groups, campus-based learning activities, including lectures and seminars. All activities must be supervised or facilitated by faculty members, TAs, or administrative staff.

Funding Details:
- NTD 500 per session.
- Maximum of 10 sessions per month (up to NTD 5,000).
- Eligible period: March to May (three months). The grant is disbursed once per semester.

4. Application Procedures and Deadlines

(1) Stage 1: Eligibility Verification
Applicants must submit the following documents within the specified period:
1. Financial Aid Application Form.
2. Supporting documents verifying financial status.

Applications will be subject to preliminary review by the Division of Student Assistance and a social worker assessment.
The interview with the social worker will be scheduled upon submission of the eligibility application. Applicants are advised to apply early to ensure sufficient time to complete the eligibility verification before the deadline.
Applicants will be notified of the eligibility result via email.

Deadline: May 31, 2026.

(2) Stage 2: Learning Assistance Grant Application
Applicants must submit the following:
1. Learning Assistance Grant Application Form

Two-Phase Submission deadlines:
 Phase 1 (for March–April activities): May 5, 2026 
 Phase 2 (for May activities): June 5, 2026

2. Online Learning Reflection Form (via QR code on the application form):
⏰ Must be completed by June 5, 2026.

📌Important Notes:
* Applications for the Learning Assistance Grant may be submitted prior to completion of eligibility verification.
However, eligibility verification must be completed by May 31, 2026.
* Applicants who fail to complete eligibility verification by the deadline will be considered to have withdrawn and will not receive funding.
* Applicants may apply for both the Study Assistance Grant and Learning Assistance Grant simultaneously.

5. Review Process

Applications will be reviewed by the Division of Student Assistance, Office of Student Affairs. Final approval of recipients and funding amounts will be determined by the Student Scholarships and Financial Aid Review Committee.

6. Restrictions

Applicants will be deemed ineligible (or have funding revoked) under the following circumstances:
(1) Receipt of a demerit or higher disciplinary sanction in the previous semester.
(2) Conviction of a criminal offense without probation or commutation.
(3) Submission of false or forged documentation.

Students who take a leave of absence, withdraw, or are expelled during their
enrollment shall lose eligibility for the financial aid starting from the month in which the event occurs.
