Kaohsiung City 2026 Urban Resilience (Air-Defense) Exercise

Date: August 7th (Friday)

Time:10:00 AM to 10:30 AM, 30 min in total

When the air-defense alarm sounds (or when all citizens receive mobile phone warning messages), all citizens shall follow the guidance of the police and civil defense staff and evacuate to adjacent shelters.

During the exercises, road traffic may be stopped and people outdoors may be directed to take shelter.

  • Pedestrians: Must immediately move to nearby indoor air-defense shelters or follow instructions from police and civil defense guides.
  • Vehicles: Drivers must pull over to a safe roadside spot, turn off the engine, and exit the car to enter a nearby shelter.

Siren sounds indicate the start of the drill:  The siren consists of 15 seconds of long note and 5 seconds of short notes. There is an interval of 5 seconds between notes. The pattern is repeated 3 times, 115 seconds in total. All clear: A long, uninterrupted siren lasting 90 seconds.

Anyone violates the rules and regulations of the drill will be fined between NTD $30,000 and NTD $150,000 in accordance with the Civil Defense Act.
